MANILA, Philippines - Winners of Resorts World Manila (RWM)’s Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney (PUJ) 2014 have pledged to donate part of their winnings to their chosen beneficiaries after bagging their respective awards and prize money during ceremonies held at The Plaza in Newport Mall last month.

Taking home top marks as well as P300,000 was the entry by artist Kazuyuki Motoda of Angono, Rizal entitled ‘Luzviminda Parola’.  The second prize, which comes with a cash prize of P200,000, went to Leopoldo Mesina Jr. of Antipolo City for his work entitled ‘Kapistahang Pilipino’.

Motoda said that part of his team’s winnings will go into funding art workshops for kids through the youth organization Likhang Uno, which is based in University of Rizal System-Angono. Mesina, on the other hand, pledged to donate part of his team’s prize to HAPLOS, or the Hemophilia Association of the Philippines for Love and Service Foundation.

RWM director for corporate communications Owen Cammayo shared, “Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney is part of Resorts World Manila’s corporate social responsibility efforts to revive and celebrate the prominence of the iconic Philippine jeepney as an initiative to further boost tourism, culture and arts in the country, while improving the livelihood of participating jeepney drivers and operators.”
