MANILA, Philippines - Australian pop music group Hi-5 paid back the love they received from Filipino fans as they returned to the country to perform their biggest concert yet. Group members Mary, Stevie, Dayen, Ainsley and newest member Tanika showed how much they appreciate the support of Filipino fans with a charity concert for underprivileged kids and children with various illnesses.
The group spent time with more than 100 kids from Kythe Foundation, a non-profit, non-stock organization which aims to inspire children diagnosed with cancer and other chronic illnesses, and charitable institution for disadvantaged children and youth Tuloy Foundation for a special Christmas party at The Plaza at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Mall.
“We do our job for the children. It’s quite incredible because no matter where we are in the world, we look up and see smiling faces. It really puts in perspective what we’re doing,” Stevie said. “We have such a strong fan base here in the Philippines and to be able to do something for the disadvantaged children here is something that is very important to us, especially now that it’s Christmas.”
Members of Hi-5 interacted, performed, and gave gifts to their special audience, made possible by Vivre Fort Entertainment, in partnership with Hi-5 Operations and Resorts World Manila. The group also placed a handsome donation for both organizations’ causes.
For over 20 years now, Kythe Foundation has been helping child-patients improve the quality of their lives through its Kythe Child Life Program. Aside from providing emotional support, Kythe child life specialists also provide financial aid to child-patients for treatment and health maintenance.
Tuloy Foundation Inc., on the other hand, is a non-government, not-for-profit organization aimed at reintegrating street children into mainstream society through a comprehensive program of caring, healing, and teaching.
