Butterfly houses take wing in Tacloban

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Workers put up the first of 50 butterfly houses for typhoon Yolanda survivors in Tacloban. The Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF) has partnered with Filipino-American entrepreneur Vonz Santos in the project. Designed by Santos, the houses are easy to put up and take down although they are sturdily built with steel frames and have large windows for ventilation. PDRF is the world’s only private sector disaster response organization and is jointly headed by Manuel V. Pangilinan, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle.
