Insular Foundation fetes honor graduates

MANILA, Philippines - The Insular Foundation recognized its seven Gold Eagle Scholars who recently graduated from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, six of whom obtained magna cum laude honors.

The Insular Foundation trustees congratulated the scholars and their parents at an appreciation lunch at the Circles Event Place in Makati Shangri-La. Each scholar was awarded a Certification of Recognition and P10,000 as bonus for graduating magna cum laude.

The graduates are: James Peter Arellano, BS Secondary Education major in Biology;  Joyce Anne Narciso, BS Secondary Education major in Social Studies; Karl Anthony Mejia, BS Secondary Education major in Special Education, minor in Physical Education; Krizia Camille Salvador, BS Elementary Education major in Special Education; Maria Celine Alexis Isidro, BS Elementary Education major in Special Education; Kathryn Mae Deveza, BS Secondary Education major in Special Education minor in Mathematics; Abigail Gonzales, BS Elementary Education major in Mathematics.

The Insular Foundation currently supports 39 Gold Eagle Scholars in Education and Mathematics at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Every year, the College Scholarship Grant offers 10 slots for a Bachelor of Science in Secondary or Elementary Education course and two slots for the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics course.

After graduation, the Education scholars are required to work as teachers in any school in the Philippines for at least two years and the Mathematics scholars should prioritize applying at Insular Life.

Scholarship benefits include full tuition and miscellaneous fees, monthly stipend, transportation and book allowance provided they meet the scholarship requirements. The Insular Foundation aspires to be a committed partner in building self-reliance for the communities it serves.
