MakatiMed, FPLA partner to help Rizal Medical Center
MANILA, Philippines - The Makati Medical Center Foundation (MMCF) launched a program to provide strategic and sustainable programs for its partner public hospital, the Rizal Medical Center (RMC).
With this pilot program, they have engaged the First Pacific Leadership Academy (FPLA) to conduct the organizational assessment of RMC and implement the necessary training and non-training programs. The goal of MMCF is to share what they do best – effectively managing a hospital and providing quality medical services.
The six-month project is divided into four phases. In the Preparatory Phase, the RMC staff underwent activities such as benchmarking, formation of RMC’s technical working group (TWG), organizational assessment and mind-setting workshops.
Subsequently, capability building workshops and coaching sessions were conducted for them to come up with a process review and improvement plan for the TWG’s respective units.
Exposure trips to National Kidney Transplant Center and Makati Medical Center, both with international certifications, reaffirmed the RMC’s commitment to excellence and quality service.
RMC will thus be able to help itself in formulating strategies and sustainable programs that will enable it to maximize funds from the national government and as well as funds generated on its own. It is also looking forward to improving its processes, keeping in mind the welfare of its patients, in order to provide better health services to the community it is serving.
