Discovery Shores Boracay among 'World's Best Hotels'

MANILA, Philippines - Travel + Leisure magazine’s T+L 500’s 10th Anniversary Collection ranks Discovery Shores Boracay as among the top-rated 500 hotels in the world. Discovery Shores also got the highest vote as the best hotel in the Philippines with a 92.93 rating. This is the luxury resort’s second World’s Best Award.

For the 16th year, Travel + Leisure’s definitive list of the top hotels, cruise lines, airlines, car-rental agencies, outfitters, cities and islands, as voted by readers, has served as an essential index of the places you want to go and the best companies to take you there.

The World’s Best Awards are bestowed on the top 500 hotels, based on respondent ratings on rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value, as well as optional characteristics.

In the 2011 T+L World’s Best Awards 2010 readers’ survey, Discovery Shores took pride in being the sole Boracay property to be hailed in the exclusive list of the World’s Best, debuting in the following categories: #7 among the Top Ten Hotel Spas Overall, and #5 among the Top Hotel Spas by Region, #55 among the Top 100 Hotels, #8 among the Top Resorts in Asia, and #2 among the Top Asia Family Hotels.

Boracay Island debuted among the World’s Best as #4 among the Top Ten Islands Overall, and #2 among the Top Islands in Asia. The candidates for this category were rated based on natural attractions, activities/sights, restaurants/food, people, and value.
