Smart supports seafarers

-

MANILA, Philippines - Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz (second from right) visited the Smart Link booth at the first International Seafarer Family Convention (ISFC) 2011 recently at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City. Smart offers various services designed exclusively for Filipino seafarers, chief of them Smart Link, the country’s first and only prepaid satellite phone service catering to the maritime industry. Providing coverage to seafarers sailing within Asia-Pacific, Indian Ocean, Middle East, Africa, and some parts of Europe and the Mediterranean, Smart Link satellite phone units are deployed across 2,500 maritime vessels all over the world. Through Smart Link, thousands of Filipino seafarers are able to contact and speak with their families back home even while they are at sea. With Baldoz are (from left) Labor Usec. Danilo Cruz, ISFC organizer Marissa Oca, and Tina Mariano, Smart Global Access Group head.
