Kulturang Pinoy quiz winners

MANILA, Philippines - The first ever cultural competition among elementary and high school students in Metro Manila, Kulturang Pinoy Quiz Wiz yielded six grand winners and six runners up.

Winners in the elementary level: Gold medalist Riane Mitzi Manuel of Colegio San Agustin, Makati; silver medalist Mark Edward Gonzales of St. Paul College of Makati; bronze medalist Christian Paul Bacaycay of Rosauro Almario Elem School; runners up Katherine Anne Pavino of Colegio San Agustin, Makati; Zeus Sanchez of St. Jude Catholic School; and Paolo Macasaet of Paco Catholic School.

Winners in the High school level are : Gold medalist Dhanna Patricia Bautista of University of the East, Manila; silver medalist Emir Deogene Mendoza of Makati Science High School; bronze medalist Oswald Santos of Makati Science High School; runners up Arvin Jay Villanueva of Jose Rizal University, Shyluck Panisa of Manuel Roxas High School and Maria Ysabelle Cruz of St. Theresa’s College.

Kulturang Pinoy Quiz Wiz is one of the landmark projects of the Brown Movement for Cultural Advancement, Inc. (Kilusang Kayumanggi), an organization that aims to preserve, promote and enhance Philippine history, art and culture.

A tough written and oral competition was held among 63 finalists in the first round, until the top six finalists from both elementary and high school levels were chosen.
