Horse fest at Clark on Nov. 27-28
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines — Thoroughbred horses from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan and China have arrived here to participate in the 2nd Annual Clark Freeport Horse Festival on Nov. 27 and 28, the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) announced yesterday.
The festival is the biggest equine event of its kind in the country.
“It’s all systems go,” said CDC president and chief executive officer Benigno Ricafort, adding that the festival “aims to promote business and tourism in the country, and position Clark Freeport as a good choice for hosting events and competitions.”
Sports enthusiasts, celebrities and known horse breeders and owners in the country are expected to attend the event.
“Among the highlights of the festival are the grand horse parade, mounted games, polo event, harness — tillbury races and mini cross-country carriage rides,” said Gabby Lao, owner of El Kabayo tourist facility here.
“There will be new fun events including various horse disciplines and competitions, parades, product and service promotions, food and cooking assortments, as well as other entertainment, exhibitions, presentations with special participation of Mad Dog Motorcycle Club, Inc.,” the CDC added.
The CDC said there will also be motorcycle, motorbikes and mopeds competitions and exhibitions, as well as Western style cooking, trade fair, carnival and food events.
The festival is supported by the Association of Clark Horsemen, Inc. and the Greater Clark Visitors Bureau in collaboration with Clark Development
Corp., Clark Freeport Tourism Association, Clark El Kabayo, Dept. of Tourism in Region III, Tourism Councils of Angeles and Mabalacat, North Phiippines Visitors Bureau, and Manila North Tollways Corporation.
