Antipolo sees greener future with Tree 500
MANILA, Philippines - The City of Antipolo, Rizal can look forward to greener days with the partnership it recently forged with Tree 500 Movement, a socio-civic organization which aims to plant at least 500 trees in every tree-planting activity. The group recently launched its program at Payaguan River in Bgy. Calawis in the Marikina Watershed area with more than 200 participants.
According to organizers, the movement aims to help ensure a stable water supply for Metro Manila and help restore Antipolo’s natural green charm as a mountain resort city. The group is looking forward to undertaking the same program with other local governments to help protect their fragile ecosystem.
Signing the memorandum of agreement are (from left) Tree 500 project officer Aldrin Raymundo, Ex-Link Management COO Orly Ballesteros, Antipolo Mayor Nilo Leyble and SERVE Inc. trustee Alberto Malvar.
