Abé Foundation gives scholarships

-

MANILA, Philippines - Two high school students from Magalang, Pampanga will be awarded scholarships for a Hotel and Restaurant Management course at the Pampanga Agricultural College by the E. Aguilar Cruz (Abé) Foundation during the opening of the Abé Museum on May 22 at Abé’s Farm at the foothills of Mt. Arayat in Magalang.

The Abé Museum presents collections on the lives of artist Abé Cruz and his son Larry Cruz, founder of the LJC Group of Restaurants that includes the iconic Cafe Adriatico in Malate.

Abé’s artworks, furniture collection, memorabilia and writing instruments will be on view, as well as books from Larry’s extensive collection.

Abé was fascinated by Mt. Arayat and the Magalang countryside, and constantly returned to these themes in his canvasses. The museum pays tribute to Abé’s career as artist, writer, newspaperman and bon vivant, as well as his stint as UNESCO ambassador.

The museum also features the achievements of son Larry as newspaperman and publisher, as well as his contributions to the Philippine hospitality industry through the many restaurants he opened.
