Army awardees get Globe education grants
MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telcoms recently awarded education grants to the Philippine Army’s Top Service awardees of the First Scout Ranger Regiment based in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.
Globe, through its flagship program Globe Bridging Communities, awarded Scout Ranger’s Best Junior Officer 1LT Dimas Jun Balais and Best Enlisted Personnel Sgt Benito Coronel with education grants worth P20,000 each to support the educational needs of the recipients’ dependents.
LtGen Delfin Bangit, commanding general of the Philippine Army and the awarding ceremony’s guest of honor, lauded Globe for its initiative in boosting the morale of the soldiers.
According to Globe community relations head Jeffrey Tarayao, the grant is a way of inspiring excellence and leadership among the country’s soldiers. “We hope to bring this program to other Divisions nationwide to show our appreciation for these gallant men and women of the Armed Forces,” Tarayao said.
Globe is set to award three more education grants to service awardees of the 7th Infantry Division based in Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.
