MANILA, Philippines - Five hundred children aged 6 to 12 from Taguig, Pasay and Makati were treated to a day of fun games, prizes, and snacks by the SM Foundation, hosted by Mall of Asia represented by Carlos Vilches, assistant mall manager, during the launch of the “Make a Child Happy” activity.  The project was then replicated in SM malls in Marikina, Fairview, North EDSA, Southmall, Pasig, Marilao, Sta. Mesa, San Lazaro, Pampanga, Baliwag, Baguio, Davao, Naga and Cebu. Target beneficiaries were children of families affected by the recent typhoons.

The Make a Child Happy Christmas activity included visits to government hospitals to distribute toys to sick children in Quezon City, Muntinlupa, La Trinidad in Benguet, Cebu and Davao. Other beneficiaries were children with disabilities and indigenous children.

Project partners of the SM Foundation were Toy World, Toy Kingdom, SM affiliates, clients and suppliers, and shoppers who donated to the Share-a-toy and Share-your-extras projects during the year.
