MANILA, Philippines - Ten students from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) College of Mass Communication are this year’s champion in the 5th National P.R. Students Grand Prix Competition sponsored by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). Held last Sept. 6 at the UST College of Medicine Auditorium, the Pluma V students emerged as the team with the best communications plan besting seven other schools, following the PRSP theme “We are the Change Makers: Voters Education Campaign.” This is the third time in five years that PLM has won the top prize.
“Bigkis Bigkis sa Halalang Malinis” was PLM’s public relations campaign plan that encourages volunteerism among college students in Metro Manila for the 2010 national elections, focusing on the new automation process, first time voters’ education, and voters’ rights and responsibilities. The campaign plan also includes an instructional video on the use of the automated poll machine.
The 10 students were Dennis Amata, Camille Antonio, Owen Baisa, Gian Munar, Lea Samorin, Revina Ramos, Grace Muncada (Best Female Speaker), Alvin Evangelio, Pauline Capacete, and Rossielle Manicad. They were advised by Gina Lumauig.
