Four hurt after taxi lands in creek
CEBU, Philippines — Four people were injured after a taxi went into a creek around 7:20 P.M. last Sunday, August 30, in Sitio Sudtunggan, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police identified the taxi driver as Rudy Montes, a resident of Calajo-an, Minglanilla town. He was driving a black Toyota Innova carrying three passengers identified as Joffel Minardo, 42, of Cambinocot, Cebu City; Jinny Dice, 44, of Oslob, Cebu; and Reynel Buenavesta, 24. The three passengers were reportedly construction workers.
The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said the taxi was traveling toward Royal Oceancrest in Barangay Mactan when Montes attempted to make a right turn along a narrow road.
The vehicle reportedly went beyond the turn and fell about four meters into the creek.
Montes and the three passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital for treatment. — (FREEMAN)
