Cebu Architects’ Basketball Club championship

CEBU, Philippines — The SR&T Industrial Supply completed a two-game sweep of Boysen Paints in their best-of-three finals
in decisive fashion, 83-71, to emerge as champions of the Cebu Architects’ Basketball Club (CABC) 8th Corporate Cup last Sunday, August 23, at the Game Changer Sports Facility in Mandaue City.
Philip Alegado shepherded SR&T to title glory with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Chester Hinagdanan banged in 16 points, six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks, while Jaymel Allanic added 11 points for SR&T, which became the third straight team from the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Sugbu Chapter to reign supreme in the annual tournament among licensed architects.
Finals Most Valuable Player Dexsel Caadan finished with four points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block.
SR&T seized command early, 26-17, and never looked back from there onwards.
Boysen pulled within four, 28-32, but SR&T restored a 45-36 advantage at halftime, which it padded to 67-53, after three quarters.
SR&T established its biggest lead at 20 points, 79-59, halfway through the final period and then safely cruised to a rousing triumph.
Kim Rebosura led four Boysen players in double figures with 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a block.
Lemuel Aspacio cashed in 15 points with seven rebounds and two assists, Miggy Aparri posted a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double while Joseph Cabigas came up with 10 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort. — (FREEMAN)
