MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos yesterday visited evacuees in Bacolor, Pampanga, one of the areas severely affected by massive flooding due to days of heavy rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon and other weather disturbances.

Marcos interacted with evacuees at the Bacolor Integrated School Evacuation Center in Barangay Cabambangan, where he also oversaw the distribution of P10,000 cash assistance each to affected families.

The financial aid was sourced from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program.

Joining Marcos were DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Pampanga Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda and Bacolor Mayor Eduardo Datu.

According to the DSWD, 315,807 families in Pampanga are still staying in evacuation centers. — Bella Cariaso
