ERCO FC leads winners of Copa Cebu 2026

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City’s ERCO FC leaned on its wealth of experience to outsmart the visiting FC Inter Racial of Dumaguete City, 2-0, and secure the premier men’s open division crown of the Copa Cebu 2026 football tournament at the Dynamic Herb–Borromeo Sports Complex over the weekend.

ERCO FC, one of Cebu’s most decorated clubs, swept all their group stage matches to advance to the quarterfinals, where they edged MJ United FC, 2-1.

In the semifinals, ERCO pulled a 4-3 thriller against Makoto FC to earn a shot at the Dumaguete squad in the final showdown.

Professional goalkeeper JK Ceniza delivered a clean sheet in the championship while banking on the finishing touches of his former Don Bosco and Cebu Football Club teammates Tam-tam Ramos and Clyde Vitualla to deliver the goals for ERCO.

Longtime ERCO stalwart Kore Marius Kore capped his consistent play with the Most Valuable Player award.

The Benthel Asia School of Technology (BAST) Green Lions of Lapu-Lapu City also made their mark with a golden double in  the Boys 13 and 17 categories.

In the U17, Lance Vern Omega powered BAST to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Don Bosco Technical College and in the process earned the MVP honors.

The younger BAST squad proved unstoppable as well, edging Makati FC, 1-0, to bag the U13 plum behind the decisive skills of MVP Amare Clark Cartalaba.

Legacy FC clinched the Players 7 title after outsmarting Giuseppe FC, 1-0, with Zeus Gerolada coming out as the MVP.

Guiseppe though still has something to be happy about after grabbing the Players 11 crown with a 2-1 triumph over Don Bosco-A. Yohann Cariquitan was honored as the MVP.

Host Cebu Football Club Academy’s Team A joined the winners’ circle with a 4-3 nailbiter over Sugbo Calidad FC to reign supreme in the Players 9 age group. Matteo Chan was named MVP.

Sugbo Calidad bounced back, edging HP95 FC, 1-0 to lift the champion’s trophy in Boys 15 with MVP Dboy Vuelga leading what was dubbed their “last dance” together.
