Cebu eyes Jancork Cabahug, set to reactivate JR Quiñahan

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Greats are eyeing the services of Jancork Cabahug and at the same time reactivate JR Quiñahan to strengthen their roster for the remainder of Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season 8.

Cebu team owner Samson Lato said they already held initial talks for the two versatile big men to suit up for the Greats in the future.

“Dugay na gyud namo gipaninguha nga makuha si Jancork (Cabahug),” said Lato. “I-reactivate sab namo si Quiñahan sa amo lineup kay gusto namo nga makatabang sila sa among goal to bring the basketball glory back to Cebu.”

While Cabahug will honor first an existing commitment with CM Farm commercial team where he is currently connected before making any decision, Quiñahan said he looks forward to donning the Cebu jersey again if given the opportunity.

“Mao na ang pinaka-exciting part sa usa ka player, ang moduwa atubangan sa iyang home fans,” said Quiñahan. “Willing kaayo ko mga moduwa og balik sa Cebu, naghinay-hinay na gani ko karon og pakondisyon.”

If plans push through, it would be very timely for Quiñahan as Cebu will treat their fans to back-to-back home games against the Biñan Tatak Gel on July 16 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City and versus the Batang Kankaloo on July 18 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Coming off a 82-72 drubbing of the Pasay Voyagers, Cebu won eight of their last nine games to improve their record 10-3. They will next face the Bulacan Kuyas on June 23 at the Olivarez College Gymnasium in Parañaque City. — (FREEMAN)
