Rovelyn kay Baldwin: ‘ano talaga ang nangyari..?’

MANILA, Philippines — Hindi nasiyahan ang ina ng nasawing si Rene Baterbonia sa paghingi ng tawad ng ni Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin nitong Biyernes ng umaga.
Sa isang post sa Facebook ni Gng. Rovelyn Baterbonia nitong Sabado, binigyan diin nito hindi kaya ng paghingi ng paumanhin ang sinapit ng anak at hiling niya ay ipaalam ang tunay na pangyayari.
“Dli madala sa apologies ang kamatayon sa Akong anak para ka mahibalo ang Ako gusto na ipahayag ni”nyo Kong onsa jud ang nahitabo nganong mo ingon mo na accident lang ang nahitabo sa Akong anak botang nko accident lang pro Wala ko ninyo ko na update Kong naonsa na nahitabo nag post namo sa social media na na Patay na Akong anak pro Wala pa mo na sent sa akoa na picture na pagkamatuod Patay na jud Akong anak (Translation: “Apologies can’t bear the death of my child so you can know what I want you to say what really happened why do you say that it was an accident that happened to my child I thought it was just an accident but you didn’t update me what happened You posted on social media that my child is dead but you haven’t sent me a picture yet, the truth is that my child is already dead”).
“I failed as a leader, I felt I had failed as a coach,” ang bahagi ng video message ni Baldwin sa social media sa unang pagkakataon na nagsalita siya simula nang maganap ang tragic incident sa Aurora resort na ikinasawi rin ng kapwa basketbolista na si Divine Adili.
“I’m sorry. To the depth of my being, I’m sorry,” ani Baldwin.
“We’re carrying immense remorse. But I’ve known since the moment that I was told that our boys had passed away, that no matter the magnitude of our grief, there were two families that experienced a loss that was so much greater than ours, and a loss that would stay with them in the most acute way for the remainder of their lives. Never again would Rene’s mother and father and family, never again would Divine’s family be able to talk to their son or touch their son,” dagdag nito. -Ludy Bermudo-
