MANILA, Philippines — While the architectural design of a building can exude the luxury it offers, the functionality of a residential development's design is a factor that should be given equal importance to ensure the best quality of life it can provide to its dwellers.
Fortunately, Filigree is bringing to the market an offering that is the result of a collaboration of design experts, ensuring efficiency and functionality of the residential project's design.
Called Two Botanika, the second tower of Botanika Nature Residences infuses the top names in architecture, space planning and interior design to bring a masterfully designed luxury residential project to the market.
Among these big names are Andy Locsin of the world-class Filipino firm Leandro V. Locsin Partners, Periquet Galicia Inc.’s principal architect Tina Periquet, and renowned interior designer Isabelle Miaja.
Well-thought-out spaces
As the latest addition to Filigree's crafted communities, Two Botanika stays true to the promise of modern luxury offered by the brand's properties as it highlights space and nature as its central focus.
While the first tower of the project already exudes luxury with the wide open spaces it offers, Two Botanika is taken up a notch with new features highlighting the benefits of more space.
Filigree engaged Periquet for the project, who is responsible for the space planning and interior designing of Two Botanika model units and the Filigree Showsuites.
“As an interior designer and space planner of residential structures, I see my job as more than making places out of spaces. My ultimate task is to curate experiences in the home,” Periquet said.
Periquet made well-thought-out spaces built with flexibility.
“The concept of the building is you’re in a vertical village,” Periquet shared.
“So, there is a nice sense of community and it’s really very much in keeping with the overall idea of being in a healthful place where you can just relax and not feel confined the way you normally would in a condo tower. There is a sense of expansiveness, openness, actual ventilation and daylight," she explained.
Periquet said the project aims to showcase a sense of integrated innate refinement as opposed to an ostentatious lavish display.
“It’s all about nature, light, a space that gives you a sense of wellness," Periquet said.
“Being on the inside of a curved, well-defined formal shape makes you feel enclosed, safe. And stepping outside, it gives you a sense of being out in the open and free to wander," she added.
Periquet incorporated a flex room that is separated from the rest of the unit, which can adapt to the ever-changing functions of a modern home—convert it into a home office, a creative corner or simply a guest room.
Periquet also highlights the demand for multi-tasking furniture, which can instantly provide the luxurious sense of having different places that a larger home can give, without having to add floor area.
Building responsibly
For his part, Locsin explained that an important aspect of Botanika that attracted them to the project is how the developers wanted to build in a responsible way.
He stressed that from the very beginning, there was an intention to ensure that this building in one way, shape or form be certified by the sustainability organizations like BERDE of the Philippines Green Building Council.
“One of the core values of this project is the ability to live an environmentally ethical life. I think that is one of the aspects that the clients are looking for," Locsin said.
“It provides a tremendous amount of privacy,” he added.
Filigree emphasized that in the coming years, Two Botanika will be erected next to the completed one, but will not face each other.
Locsin said this encourages airflow.
“The building atriums’ passive cooling applies the Venturi effect, a scientific principle in which the design and building’s position are oriented toward the dominant breeze direction to create air pressure zones,” Locsin said.
“It is going back to the simple things—a beautiful garden, bumping into your friends, feeling part of the community, feeling safe and breathing good air,” he said, adding that safety, nice people and good air are a true luxury.
“In many ways, if you look at the plan, Botanika is very much more like a single detached residential house in a residential village," Locsin said.
Art-infused amenity
Aside from its well-thought spaces and remarkable architectural structure, the common areas of Botanika Nature Residences are also masterfully designed as the project tapped renowned interior designer Isabelle Miaja.
Researching a city’s indigenous cultural heritage to find gems of inspiration for her art is an integral part of the design process for Miaja.
As a result, the local suppliers whose art and furniture pieces can be found in the residential tower.
“When we design, we build every project around a storyline that is connected to the place, the people and its art, the whole cultural background," Miaja said.
In line with this, Miaja roamed around and shopped for furniture and antiques in Manila, Pampanga and other cities, taking in as much as she could.
“I have to reinvent everything and give it a new twist,” she adds.
Same Botanika, elevated luxuries
Just like the first tower of the project, Two Botanika features the same world-class innovation and the same genuine green living being a BERDE-certified project.
With its enhanced focus on space, the new condominium tower complements the product offerings of the first tower as it features one-bedroom units, expanding options for a wider range of target markets.
Two Botanika also offers a new special unit. The four-bedroom bi-level units will provide much more space as it is complete with deeper lanais and a grand ceiling.
Units at Two Botanika will feature wider balconies which will provide more outdoor space for its residents – blurring the boundaries between the units and outdoors.
To complete the amenities offered by the first tower of the project, Two Botanika will also be home to a fitness gym and to the Sky Lounge which will provide magnificent views of Filinvest City.
Strategic location
Filigree stays true to the promise of a prime location for its properties, with Two Botanika planted within the most exclusive portion of Filinvest City, a 3-star BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) Certified and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified neighborhood development in the Metro South.
The future residents of Two Botanika will enjoy the perks of living in a walkable garden city with convenient access to all of life’s necessities, such as world-class medical facilities, multinational business establishments, shopping and commercial centers or prestigious educational institutions.
With its wide spaces, thoughtfully planned units and world-class design, Two Botanika offers its residents the luxury of a safe and functional home.
