Subaru Legacy is Most Awarded Car in the Market

MANILA, Philippines - The 2010 Subaru Legacy is regarded as the most awarded car in the market with the numerous awards and recognitions it has received all over the world. In a little over nine months after its introduction, the Legacy has already received top awards from the International Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the European, Japanese, and Australasian New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP, JNCAP, and ANCAP) for having the best performance in safety. It has also been recently recognized as the Philippines’ Car of the Year by the Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI).

The IIHS, Euro NCAP, JNCAP, and ANCAP provide consumers with the latest safety information on tested vehicles in their respective regions. Crash testing scores are evidence that the new Legacy lives up to Subaru’s impeccable safety designs and engineering, which include ring reinforcement safety system, front, seat-mounted side, and side-curtain airbags and ABS. Subaru’s Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system also comes in standard, which incorporates stability and traction control systems with a roll-over sensor.

Aside from top safety awards, the redesigned 2010 Subaru Legacy raised Subaru’s overall standing as best all-around vehicle for 2010 as published by Consumer Reports Magazine. Evaluations included fuel economy, interior fit and finish, comfort, safety and overall build quality. Despite having almost all manufacturers improve their standing in the recently concluded test, Subaru garnered highest awards for having the best balance in each category.

Likewise, the 2010 Subaru Legacy received CAGI’s Car of the Year award, while having won its respective category as Mid-Size Car of the Year, and Speedlab’s Tuner’s Choice Award. Tests were conducted in a controlled environment to evaluate vehicle performance in acceleration, braking, and handling, as well actual road tests in city streets for vehicle comfort and ergonomics.

The all-new 2010 Legacy hauls its passengers with a newly developed 2.5 liter Subaru boxer engine boosted by a turbocharger, and Subaru’s SI-Drive which gives the driver 3 options of driving style ranging from Intelligent [I], Sport [S], and Sport Sharp [S#] for maximum driving pleasure. Subaru’s patented Symmetrical All-wheel drive comes in standard to keep the Legacy planted to the ground complemented by Bilstein shock absorbers for superb ride and excellent cornering ability, and with 265 raging horses under the hood, the Legacy sprints from 0-100kph in just 6 seconds.

The Legacy’s interior has also been redeveloped to offer a more spacious and comfortable cabin for its passengers. Black leather upholstery engulfs the Legacy’s interior while on-board entertainment include Subaru’s premium sound system with iPod input and steering wheel audio controls. Automatic on/off headlamps and rain-sensing wipers come in standard as well, for added safety and comfort.
