TOTAL, Nissan provide Holy Week Motor Medic Program
MANILA, Philippines - Holy Week is fast approaching again, and during this time we can expect a substantial increase in the number of motorists traveling from Metro Manila toward their respective provincial destinations, either as an out of town religious pilgrimage or as a time to enjoy the holidays with family and friends at the beach. Sometimes, however, hassles like car engine trouble, engine over heating, or a flat tire can spoil the thrills of these road trips.
TOTAL (Philippines) Corporation, in partnership with Nissan Motors Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) and Universal Motors Corporation (UMC), will be offering its annual motorist assistance program, aptly called Motor Medic Program. The program is designed to aid the traveling public who might encounter car troubles in their journeys throughout the countryside this Holy Week and it will run from March 31, Holy Wednesday, to April 4, Easter Sunday.
Motorists can enjoy free service checks on tire pressure, oil and radiator water level, and brakes inspection at designated tents set-up in TOTAL stations. Nissan, on the other hand, will provide the technical expertise and equipment necessary in roadside motorist assistance, eyeball checkups, as well as free minor emergency repairs.
Participating TOTAL stations include those in Baguio (along Marcos Highway), Tagaytay, Lipa, Alabang, Calamba, and San Pablo City , Laguna (Almendras station). During the Holy Week, TOTAL will also provide free roadside assistance inside major tollways North Luzon Expressway (G Star area) and South Luzon Expressway.
Aside from these sites, Nissan will put up similar tents of the Motor Medic Program at some of its exclusive dealer sites at Pampanga, Cabanatuan [Nueva Ecija], and Isabela.
Each participating TOTAL station will also have a Nissan car display, open for customer viewing and test drive.
This is the third year that TOTAL has sponsored the Nissan Motor Medic Program, as it fortifies TOTAL’s commitment on advocating road safety awareness that aims to make customers more safety-conscious. In addition, it represents the company’s dedication towards excellent service and uncompromising enforcement of safety to its customers, business partners, and its own team members.
TOTAL has supplied the lubricant requirements of NMPI since 2007 and Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) since January 2010. NMPI is known as the arm for Nissan’s gasoline engine cars, while UMC is for its diesel-run vehicles.
The Retail & Lubricants Division of TOTAL also recommends easy-to-remember tips for those planning to travel this Holy Week: When traveling out of town on a motor vehicle, make sure the vehicle is in good running condition. Before leaving, check the vehicle’s “BLOWBAG”, meaning, B-batteries, L-lights, O-oil, W-water, B-brakes, A-air, and G-gas. It is also suggested to have documents related to the car in hand, in case of vehicle-related problems.
