Asian Carmakers Corporation: Joy redefined

MANILA, Philippines - Ever since its incorporation in 1990, Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the exclusive importer of BMW vehicles and motorcycles in the country, has been at the forefront of bringing Joy into the Philippines through its affiliation with the BMW brand. In fact, it’s pretty safe to say that ACC spearheaded the brand’s growth from day one.

In 1993, ACC became the first exclusive importer of BMW vehicles in the Philippines. As years passed and the BMW brand recognition began to grow, ACC welcomed several business models that would help the BMW brand grow even further. The direct result of this open-mindedness was the joint venture that opened the floodgates for BMW vehicles altogether. In 2001, BMW Philippines came into the picture and ACC became its joint venture partner, with a 30% stake in the company.

The success of the brand was bolstered – and no doubt proven – by the burgeoning of several BMW dealerships around Metro Manila and in the provinces. Today, BMW is the number one premium car brand in the country, with no less than five full-fledged dealerships selling and servicing BMW vehicles for its myriad customers around the country.

Last year, with the BMW group restructuring its business models in the Asia Pacific region, ACC reassumed responsibility of the BMW business in the Philippines, once again acting as exclusive importer of BMW vehicles in the country. Led by its chairman, Mr. Jose Ch. Alvarez, ACC has been proudly carrying the BMW flag since February of 2009.
