Max's and CECAP in Purple Bonds for Mother's Day

-

MANILA, Philippines - The month of May is the month for every Eve. It is the very chance in a year that we get to show to those women in our lives how vital they have been to our growth as the person whom we have been molded into. And as Max’s remembers that mothers are the light of every home, this fast casual dine-in restaurant pledged their full support to the Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) Network Program.

Having been founded in 2007, CECAP aims to win the fight against the second deadliest sickness that most women are affected with, cervical cancer. And for over two years, this program has been successful in conducting trainings and lectures to different lay and health professionals. With their pilot sites located at Taytay, Muntinlupa and Cebu, CECAP has been undertaking various researches for cervical cancer prevention and has provided different modules to teach the methods of cryotherapy treatment.

Dr. Cecilia Llave, CECAP Director tells of her own tale and insight on why they have decided to fight for this noble cause, “Everyone should be concerned and alarmed of this ailment. Even men and husbands should know about this because we all know that women play an important role in our lives. Simply put, it’s a thought of thanking those who have protected us, of those women who took care of us and this is a simple way of giving something back to them. We know that this is a gateway also for others to become aware of CECAP and we are very grateful to Max’s for being the first in the food industry to recognize us and support our cause. We were actually very surprised that they were knowledgeable on CECAP and it showed their passion to really serve and help us.”

You can help the foundation’s advocacy through Max’s Restaurant with your purchase of a purple CECAP ribbon bookmark which costs P5 each. Part of the proceeds of the bookmark will be donated to the foundation to help them fund the trainings of their medical practitioners and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screenings for patients. Also with your P1,500 worth of single receipt purchase, you can get a free limited edition CECAP awareness bracelet from May 8-10 as part of its three-day Mothers’ Day promo. Max’s Corner Bakery also offers commemorative purple CECAP cookies at P15 each for the whole Cervical Cancer Awareness month of May.

Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) Network Program is affiliated with JHPHIEGO of John Hopkins University and University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital.
