Heroes for the holidays
Artists Maxi Ramos and Fernando Sena give art workshops for HERO military orphan scholars. Their work will be featured in Pamana: Colors of Hope.

MANILA,Philippines — ‘Pamana’ is the Filipino translation of legacy, a word which describes what HERO Foundation is all about.

Rooted in its cause, HERO Foundation Inc. opens up another opportunity to help secure the educational needs of our fallen soldiers’ legacy – the orphans whom they have left behind. “PAMANA: Colors of Hope Art Exhibit” is a special benefit art exhibit that features artworks of HERO military orphan scholars in collaboration with artists Maxi Ramos and Fernando Sena, who pioneered Philippine art workshops.

This event will be held on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at Ronac Art Center in Ortigas Avenue, San Juan.

The artworks to be featured in the exhibit were also reproduced into special edition Christmas cards and all-occasion postcards which you can give in lieu of gifts to family, friends or colleagues for a more meaningful celebration of the coming holidays. Each purchase of a Christmas card or an all-occasion postcard is a donation made in your recipient’s name to help a military orphan finish school.

Founded in 1988, HERO (Help Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation Inc. has helped almost 3,000 military orphans pursue their dreams even with the loss of their family’s primary breadwinner.  Since then, HERO has produced 1,200 graduates.

This school year, through the generosity of individuals and partner corporations and organizations, HERO is helping 444 orphans nationwide continue their education. Majority of the orphans HERO supports is from Mindanao.

Pamana: Colors of Hope Exhibit will not be possible without the help of DJ Big Boy Cheng, Maxi Ramos, National Bookstore, Art Discovery and Learning Foundation Inc. and AFPEBSO.

For inquiries and to order Christmas cards, email [email protected] or call 8-709-4186 or 0917-8224376 and look for Jean.
