Time to be grateful

We had challenges but we also had victories. Overall, we actually had a reasonably good year.

The year 2018 is coming to its end and we look back to how the passing year has been. We had challenges but we also had victories. Overall, we actually had a  reasonably good year.

Today, we feel it is time to be grateful, to extend our sincere gratitude to the women (and some men) who assisted and supported us in our pursuit to help homemakers in the management of their homes, particularly with regard to their nutrition needs.

There are the supermarket staff behind the counters (of meat, fowl, fish and vegetables) generally accommodating our specific requirements like dressed chicken weighing from 1.3 to 1.5 kgs. There is Venus in the seafood section who always cautions her staff to be careful in cleaning bangus, retaining the fat. Of course, there is Jo of Makati Supermarket and our new-found friend Belinda, also of Makati. These two ladies help us find items, even getting them from their bodega. Their uniformed staff who never fail to give us a chair as we wait at the cashier’s.

There is the lady at the French Baker in Robinson’s in Solenad, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa who always has a warm greeting whenever we would be there. We must get her name the next time we drop by. The helpful staff of Marketplace in the Westgrove area. The welcoming ladies of Mercury Drug in Westgrove and Paseo. Our prescriptions are long lists but they are very patient in filling them up.

Needless to say we thank our tireless team of kasambahays, Cheche and Kris, for their loyalty and happy disposition in performing their household duties.

We likewise extend our thanks to our regular readers who provide us valuable feedback.

Last but certainly not the least we are grateful to our editor Doreen who has graciously given us the space in this magazine and her girls Rosal and Alpha who patiently await our emails every issue.

To all (sorry if we missed some) here is a wish for a New Year full of hope, peace and love!
