Tendrils book of haikus relaunched

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Teresita Aviles-Gecolea, an 83-year-old grandmother of four, recently relaunched her book, Tendrils, a collection of haikus and other poems in English and Filipino.

The author is a self-educated poet, having developed her passion for reading and writing since she was eight years old. Her poems appeared as early as 1953 in The Cross and other magazines including Mod and Homelife. She worked with Manila’s public library in her younger days.

As a grandmother, the author still writes haikus until today and draws inspiration from her grandchildren.

Tendrils is available at Mind Master Publishing Inc. at 116 Narra St., Project 3, Quezon City. For inquiries, call 435-1073 or 421-1353.
