2012 ten outstanding Boy Scouts announced

MANILA, Philippines - This year’s ten outstanding boy scouts are Danilo Tabilas Jr., John Ernest Mari Cruz, Austin Bennett Ong, Charles Li, Anton Joshua DC del Rosario, Genesis Lance Orejas, Ven Gabriel Tan, Donn Gerard Ouano, Derrel Keith de Leon and Renzel Yu.

The winners were chosen from the 23 finalists representing the 10 Scouting Regions in the country and were selected from among the hundreds of candidates from 117 local councils nationwide. 

Exclusively sponsored by Coca-Cola Export Corporation, the annual search is the biggest event in the Scouting calendar for the country’s 2 million scouts. The  nationwide search begins in July and culminates in the awarding ceremonies this month as one of the highlights of the Scouting month, the founding anniversary of BSP.

Winners of the search will receive two-year college scholarships, cash and other prizes. Part of the criteria for the selection of winners are community service, character development and bearing,communication skills and personality.
