New Bahay Pag-asa in Mandaluyong City

-

MANILA, Philippines - In response to the alarming rise of criminal activities by youth offenders in the past year, the Metro Manila Spouses Foundation (MMSF) has revived “Bahay Pag-asa,” a shelter for children in conflict with the law.

The new Bahay Pag-asa is located in Mandaluyong and provides a structured environment and programs for children in conflict with the law.

“These kids often fall into bad ways because they are abandoned or neglected – their parents are too busy working to put food in on the table to give the kids moral guidance,” says MMSF executive director Ricky Reyes.

Bahay Pag-asa also provides its wards with the guidance of house mothers and social workers for counselling and therapy.

The house has a dining area adopted by Wilma Galvante, a dormitory donated by Trini Sia, a chapel from the Ricky Reyes Foundation, and a library/study area donated by the Yes Pinoy Foundation of Bahay Pag-asa’s “kuya” Dingdong Dantes.
