Lipa: A jewel of a City

MANILA, Philippines - Few cities in the Philippines can match the rich heritage of Lipa, Batangas. The book “Lipa: A Jewel of a City” is out now in coffee table book edition.

Written by Visitacion de la Torre, the book explores the city’s natural treasures – year-round cool climate, scenic mountain ranges, gentle sea, fertile soil, robust livestock, and spectacular greens.

On a different plane, Lipa, dubbed the Rome of the Philippines, is the choice setting of some of the country’s religious communities. The faith of the people of Lipa has been the city’s cornerstone.

The book attempts to portray Lipa in its multi-dimensional character. It is published by the Lipa City Culture and Arts Foundation. Its book designer, Bernard Fernando, has succeeded in melding the historic photos (some of which have never been published) and contemporary shots, showcasing Lipa’s best features.
