MyPhone - a phone that's truly 'mine'

-

MANILA, Philippines –  Over the years, newer models of mobile phones have come out and have become a trend until, sooner or later, they’d be overshadowed by another new series of high-end handsets. Many Filipinos make sure they don’t get left behind by the new mobile technology although most of them really cost so much.

Today, it’s not easy buying a high-end phone with the latest mobile technology. New cellphone models from more popular brands have prices ranging from P20,000 to P40,000, something that an ordinary minimum wage earner can hardly afford. For some, they’d rather get second-hand phones or China-made replicas, which are more likely defective.

On the other hand, a Filipino mobile phone maker simply understands how to respond to the growing needs of the Filipino consumers. “When we came in to the market, it was a very competitive market, so we felt that the one thing that we Filipinos basically know better than the foreign brand is that we know the heart of the Filipino market,” explained David Lim, CEO and chairman of MyPhone.

MyPhone models have contents and features that are specially made for Filipinos at a price that is far more affordable than their counterparts from other brands. These phones are equally as competitive as other brands and include advanced technological features such as phone cameras and Internet applications. Touch screen phones such as the T23 Duo only cost P3,399, while Qwerty phones, or those which have keys similar to a computer keyboard, are priced between P1,888 to P5,990.

He continued, “So, we started developing contents, which was the main reason why Filipinos love the phone. It has the prayers, jokes, history, it has the music. It has the soul of every masa Pinoy.”

Early this year, MyPhone played an important role in the presidential elections by its release of a special series of phones as a tribute to the country’s heroes, Ninoy and Cory Aquino. The yellow Noynoy Inaugural phones are reminiscent of the country’s democratic icons and are printed with their images, as well as reading glasses, that are symbolic of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino and a yellow ribbon to represent former President Corazon Aquino.

MyPhone’s Pinoy Phone Ready series is what makes it all-Filipino with all the applications and contents that are made just right for every Juan Dela Cruz. These phones are loaded with a 2G micro SD containing around 800 files. Users can enjoy local pop culture while browsing through great Filipino quotes, famous movie lines and funny jokes that are sure to go with the Filipino humor. It also features a karaoke so that anyone can sing wherever he goes with the Pinoy Phone.

For MyPhone, every Pinoy deserves a decent phone that doesn’t lag behind the latest technology, and one that anyone can have at an affordable price.
