Worldreach visits the Philippines

-

MANILA, Philippines - Executives from different WorldReach offices in the United States, Brazil, Nigeria, and Ukraine visited the country to observe and learn from community transformation efforts of Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines (OB) in Laguna and Payatas.

The eight foreign guests joined OB’s various activities in BayaniJuan sa Calauan in Laguna. They witnessed an ongoing medical mission, planted seedlings for an herbal garden, and dedicated a new well for the community.

Early this year, OB partnered with ABS-CBN Foundation in uplifting lives of 4,000-plus families who found a new home in BayaniJuan sa Calauan, a resettlement site for informal settlers along the Pasig River and victims of typhoon Ondoy.

The WorldReach visitors also went to Payatas, Quezon City, where OB has been conducting community transformation since the ‘90s. They met mothers with successful small-scale livelihood projects, saw an ongoing Mobile Out-of-School Training in dressmaking and refrigeration and air-conditioning repair, and sat down with Payatas kids during a storytelling and feeding program, a component of OB’s Bless-a-Child project.

WorldReach is the international thrust of Virginia, USA-based Christian Broadcasting Network. It aims to present the Gospel message to the world through strategic use of mass media and humanitarian programs such as Operation Blessing in nations across the globe.
