How do you open an environment exhibit? Instead of snipping a ribbon, dahlings, officials and guests of Haribon Foundation "wove a web of life to demonstrate the inter-relation of living things, which is the very essence of bio-diversity", says Haribon’s Annabelle Plantilla. So Haribon pres. Fr. Mario Francisco SJ, VP and Terrestrial Ecosystem program director Blas Troy Tabaranza Jr., Protected Areas asst. director Mondita Lim, plus Dr. Aldrin Mallari, Susan Roxas, Maribeth Baril, Belen King, Patty Araneta, Philip Camarra and Pinky Magsino played out the intricate connection of different animals and plants.
The exhibit celebrates Haribon’s 30th year of working for the environment and aims to get the public involved in their struggle to protect our country’s bio-diversity.
"Not many people know that the Philippines is considered one of the highest bio-diversity spots in the planet and our bio-diversity is our country’s single most valuable resource," Annabelle says.
Showing their support for the cause, palanggas, were Jose Antonio and Ariel Jayme from the Dutch Embassy, Philips’ Ellen Torres, EPCIBank’s Rosario Bautista, Dario Pagcaliwagan of Conservation Int’l, former DFA Usec. Sixto Roxas and other personas who care about our earth.
