Mega Lady Host

my LIPS are SEALED… sometimes… - Maurice Arcache -
It was a mega mix of fun and fashion during the 7th Mega Megazine Ladies Cup golf tournament, dahlings, at Tagaytay Midlands, a gathering of women of style and spunk.

Tee off was play and display time, as the ladies got to flash a full swing and flaunt their winning figures. Apres a walk on the greens, palanggas, contestants participated in a fashion presentation of the latest golf wear by Liz Claiborne. The Ladies Chapter heads and Mega Magazine team were clad in cool casual wear by Dockers.

Bagging the top spot as over-all champion was Caroline Nielsen, closely followed by Class A champion Malou Belandres, Class B champion Hedy Gaisano See and Class C champion Cami Pastores. Other winners, palanggas, were Vinice Godio and Rio Co in Class A, Olive Pizarro and Irene Concepcion in Class B, Debbie Bathan and Patricia Carreon in Class C. Rio Co also received the Best Dressed award.

When it comes to combining fun and elegance, dahlings, it’s hard to beat the host with the most. Rose Marie "Baby" Arenas, together with the equally dynamic general manager of the Mandarin Oriental Manila, Helmut Gaisberger, hosted a fabulous dinner in honor of and to bid adieu to the tres well-loved French Ambassador Gilles Chouraqui, who has left for his new post as France’s permanent representative to the European Council.

The dinner party was held at the Fontaine Room, beautifully adorned with fresh flowers and red rose petals strewn all over the tables set with the finest crystal and silver. Entertainment for the evening was provided by violin virtuoso Jay Cayuca, but the highlight was the singing of the guests, led by Ambassador Chouraqui who sang "La Vie en Rose" and the soulful rendition of Spanish songs by Mexican Ambassador Enrique Hubbard. Even the tres reserved Jaime Laya obliged with the Visayan love song "Usahay". Helmust G. did his version of "Some Enchanted Evening" and naturellement, Baby Arenas, who inherited her vocal cords from her mother, the late opera diva Remedios Bosch Jimenez, sang with the guests and solo, palanggas. It was, indeed, a night to remember.

Remember, palanggas, "The best friends are like Jesus Christ–they stick with you to the end." Smile. See you.
