Q.C.’s New Hang Out

- Maurice Arcache -
The place has an industrial feel–unpainted floors, galvanized aluminum luster everywhere, corrugated iron stairs. It’s almost like a SoHo loft in New York, except that Loft 216 is in Blue Ridge and it’s party night every night, dahlings. It’s a bar and restaurant that happens to have billiard tables is how its owner describe the place.

The invitees to the recent opening proved their worth when they stepped up the entrance and swilled a shot of the house specialty drink Flaming Ferreri to officially open Loft 216. Apres the first drink, owner dudes Lloyd Joven, Ian Tiongson, Randy Cabangon and Vince Arellano joined friends to drink to the other house specialty, Flaming Lamborg-hini. From then on, the drinks and the people just kept coming!

The four pals from diverse backgrounds include: Vince who runs the famille-owned Mother Goose Playschool. Ian, son of Cabalen’s eyecatcher Maritel Nievera, who is the resto’s head of operations; Randy who manages a pawnshop; and Lloyd, who manages the family’s construction biz and is the son of wonder PR woman Susan Joven. Put together they’ve come up with a spacious funky place to chill out, relax and have a great time.

The personas who came to do just that include former model Joyce Oreña, Robinsons’ Frederick Go, Lisa Ilarde with hubby Elbert Cuenca, Hoy Gising’s Connie Sison, Miguel, Ivan and Sheila Ramos, jeweler Raffy Florencio, Eric Martel, Willin and Benedict Chan, Ina and Lia Colayco, Jonathan Go and naturellement, maven Susan J. wearing the most conspicuous orange shirt to show her support.

Remember, palanggas, "Because God is always with us, we need not ever fear what is ahead of us." Smile. See you.
