Landers Superstore, the fastest growing membership shopping superstore in the country, has finally brought first-class membership shopping experience to the south of Metro Manila.

The new Landers Superstore Alabang West, located on Daang Hari Road in Las Piñas City, recently opened its doors to shoppers (including myself and my mom) with a festive vibe complete with a huge and pretty grazing table filled with cheeses, breads, cold cuts, ice cream and so much more.

Landers Superstore president Gwen Lim greeted executives and guests in her welcome remarks. The superstore’s brand ambassadors Nico Bolzico and Erwan Heussaff also graced the event. Others seen shopping included Laureen Uy, Gloria Diaz with daughters Isabelle Daza-Semblat and Ava Daza, Rajo Laurel, Oyo Boy Sotto, Kristine Hermosa and Issa Litton. I also saw STAR’s Doreen Yu and Tanya Lara there.

The opening was made even more special with exclusive buy-one-get-one deals and big discounts. Completing the first-class membership shopping experience were the superstore’s vast-spaced, well-lit aisles; cozy coffee shop called Doppio, comfy diner called Landers Central, and its bakery Dough & Co.

I had a grand time getting stuff for the kitchen and the house. I felt like a kid in a candy store as Landers has a remarkable food section and has a vast selection of products. When we went home, I had a hard time fitting all the food that I bought in my freezer!

Become a Landers member now and avail yourself of its membership promo of 50-percent off until April 30, which allows you to get the premium membership card for only P400. For easier membership applications, visit www.landers.ph.

The fourth Sinag Maynila Film Festival shone brighter as it culminated in the Gabi ng Parangal at the Conrad Manila Forbes Ballroom in Pasay City.

Conceptualized by its CEO and founder Wilson Tieng with acclaimed film director Brillante Mendoza, Sinag Maynila showcases quality and thought-provoking movies from young, non-mainstream filmmakers.

Solar Entertainment, Centerstage Productions and SM’s joint project seeks to inspire, educate and enlighten the viewing public by featuring films that reflect Filipino culture, while presenting social issues deserving of discussion among audiences. These films were shown at SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM City North EDSA, SM City Fairview, SM Southmall, SM City Bacoor, SM City Manila and SM Sta. Mesa.

Five films competed in the Full-Length category: Joselito Altarejos’ Tale of the Lost Boys, which was awarded as the Best Film; Ralston Jover’s Bomba (The Bomb), Richard Somes’ El Peste, Matthew Victor Pastor’s Melodrama/Random/Melbourne and Yam Laranas’ Abomination.

The festival also had Short Film and Documentary categories,  for which The Duwende by Odin Fernandez and Mahal, 2017 by Janine Santos won respectively. A special Jury Prize for Documentary was also awarded to Albert Almendralejo and Maricel Cariaga’s Journeyman Finds Home: The Simone Rota Story.

The Sinag Maynila Film Festival was made possible by McDonald’s, in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, CineLokal and Jack TV. SM Cinema was the official venue partner.
