Lifestyle brand Original Penguin launched a special capsule collection to mark its 60th anniversary.
Inspired by six decades of fashion and the classic ‘50s to ‘60s style that Original Penguin is known for, the anniversary collection is over-dyed and washed for a vintage, heirloom feel. For instance, the classic “Earl Polo” comes in rich plum, blue and charcoal, while the “Daddy-O Polo” comes in midnight blue. Pete The Penguin, the official mascot and logo of the brand, also reminds us of his big day with various T-shirts, woven tops and hoodies featuring an enlarged version of the logo or repeat pattern for clothing styles cleverly called “The Re-Pete.” Long-sleeved woven tops in dark plaid and muted specked patterns, and a black Ratner jacket with gold trim detailing complete the celebratory collection of the brand.
Penguin also introduced its latest brand ambassadors Nico Bolzico, the innovative founder of LM10 and Siembra Directa Corp., which helps bring the agriculture sector of the Philippines to a world-class level; chef JP Anglo, who has elevated local flavors into a whole new taste level with his restaurant, Kafe Batwan; two-time volleyball champion Mika Reyes, who likes doing her own thing both inside and outside the court; and fashion expert Bea Constantino, who is all about knowing one’s style, identity and keeping it true.
Original Penguin’s 60th anniversary collection is available at all Penguin stores.

Unfiltered beauty
It was a celebration of women at the relaunch of The Boudoir Dolls, the first all-female photography group experts in the country catering specifically to women, at the Makati Shangri-La Manila.
Owners Madoka Tomas, Shayla Sanchez and Arlene Briones feel it is important for a woman to feel gorgeous in her own skin. And what better way to celebrate this feeling of empowerment than by perfectly captured images. The Boudoir Dolls aims to capture women of different shapes, backgrounds and sizes in significant moments in their life.
Boudoir photography is known to touch on more sensual strings, but this intimate, sexy aesthetic becomes tasteful and meaningful when done with the objective of making women more beautiful and confident about themselves. Beyond being a photography service, The Boudoir Dolls is a community of women who empower each other.
The group’s distinct roster of photography services include “Boudoir You,” which highlights a woman’s beauty and power; “Boudoir Bride,” which ushers a woman from the life of being single to her new role as a partner and wife; and the “Boudoir Bump” that captures special moments in the stages of a woman’s pregnancy.
