Fila hit the art and fashion scene again by celebrating Patrick Rosas’ talent in makeup artistry, vision and creativity.
As the makeup master continues to make more and more people look and feel their best, he takes his beauty prowess to new heights with the launch of his third coffee table book, Rituals. The launch was supported by Fila’s L’artenello sport series, which is dedicated to promoting the arts and sports.
Rituals showcased the depth of Rosas’ talent through 160 photographs that feature prominent personalities in the country. He tapped six top photographers in the Philippines — Neal Oshima, Mark Nicdao, Filbert Kung, Glenn Gordon, Patrick Uy and Jo Ann Bitagcol — to capture his stunning makeup creations through their lenses.
The limited edition book, which was launched at Whitespace in Makati City, is available in only 500 copies. It comes in an acrylic case with a special bookmark created by Carlo Calma. Each hardbound textured covered book and its bookmark are numbered accordingly. The regular edition is likewise striking with its red cover. The book contains photographs of Rosas’ muse and dear friend Gretchen Barretto, Baby Fores, Korina Sanchez, Aivee Teo, Iza Calzado, Angel Aquino, Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran-Floirendo, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Fila’s Cris Albert, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, Jojie Lloren, Michael Cinco, Ruffa Gutierrez, Joseph Marco and Richard Gomez.
Truly a visual feast, Rituals perfectly encapsulates Rosas’ excellent artistic talent and his passion for his craft.

French wine bistro in Manila
It’s finally open!
Bistro du Vin (BDV), regarded as one of the most authentic French bistros in the region, is part of Singapore’s award-winning Les Amis Group. Its Manila outlet is a collaboration with the Philippines’ dynamic Moment Group.
The Moment Group was established in 2012 by Abba Napa, Eli Antonino and Jon Syjuco. It has already become one of the country’s most dynamic restaurant groups with concept-driven restaurants like ‘Cue, Manam, BurgerBar, 8Cuts and Linguini Fini.
Meanwhile, the Les Amis Group, established in 1994, began as a pioneer in Singapore’s gastronomy scene. Its repertoire of cuisine includes Italian, French, Vietnamese and Japanese. BDV is one of the many restaurant concepts created by the group.
BDV’s opening cocktail party gave guests tasting portions of the bistro’s hearty French dishes. French cheeses such as Petit Cantal, Époisse, camembert and Fourme d’Ambert together with house-made charcuterie like Duck Rillette and saucisson were served. BDV’s French bistro dishes and specials served included foie gras terrine on toast with fig compote and apple, grilled lamb ribs with honey-mustard glaze and lavender, steak au poivre and for dessert, the Don Papa Rum Baba.
Live saxophone music filled the night with a street magician delighting the guests on the ground floor while guests on the mezzanine queued for tarot card reading.
As the bistro’s name is “du vin” or “of the Wine,” BDV is clearly wine-centric and party guests had their fill of it the whole night.
(Bistro du Vin is located at the Ground Floor of Edades Tower and Garden Villas, Plaza Drive corner Hidalgo Drive, Rockwell, Makati City. For inquiries, call 958-6712.)
