All-American goodness!
MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, Manila was all red, white and blue when “All-American, All Good,” a month-long American Independence celebration of the hotel, was launched recently.
Chocolate sculpture pieces of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean adorned the entrance of the ballroom as great American hits were played by a band. Inside, Harley Davidson bikes and RJ guitars were proudly on display at the center of the ballroom.
Guests enjoyed the spread of food prepared by executive chef Meik Brammer. The BBQ Station served beef and pork spareribs with homemade BBQ sauce. The Tortilla Chips Station offered old-fashioned Texas chili that went with every serving of tortilla chips while the Soup Station had shrimp gumbo with homemade sausage. There was also Jambalaya with homemade corn bread with cheese and jalapeño. Mini-beef sliders and cupcakes were also served. Wines from Beringer, Jack Daniel’s whiskey cocktails and Budweiser Beer were the obvious drinks of choice!
US Ambassador Philip Goldberg graced the occasion. Host Giselle Tongi-Walters also introduced chef John Havens, corporate chef of Certified Angus Beef and the guest of Marriott Hotel Manila for the All-American, All Good food festival.
Guests were also treated to performances of the acrobats and dancers of Spectacular courtesy of Resorts World Manila.
