Another auction at Now Gallery

Oriental Conversation by Jose Joya.

MANILA, Philippines - Now Gallery has another auction tomorrow, March 15. The 107 lots typify the breadth of Philippine art history and how it was enriched by the artists of the past. The art scene today is energized by the raw talent of young Filipino artists. Some of these artists are carefully included in this auction. Contemporary artists like Robert Langenegger, Wire Tuazon, Jonathan Ching, Poklong Anading and MM Yu make a debut in Now Auctions.

For those wanting to add to their collection of old masters, Now Auctions offers the 1977 sculptural work of Napoleon Abueva or Federico Aguilar Alcuaz’s Reminiscencia No. 19, a beautiful tapestry made by the late National Artist in Eastern Europe. Vicente Manansala is represented in the auction with a solemnly expressive ink drawing of a nude woman, which he did during his stint in Montreal. Oscar Zalameda’s Shell Vendor is another must-have in the auction, a colorful and happy scene of workers gathering shells for a living.

Head on to tomorrow’s auction at Now Gallery. Pre-register early via e-mail, or by visiting the gallery. Check out the curated exhibition on display.
