Mona Lisa Overdose

SecretFresh released Luis Lorenzana’s Mona Lisa Overdose, a limited edition 50 pieces of Mona Lisa figures with 10 of them customized and hand-painted by the artist. It is Lorenzana’s second collaboration with SecretFresh after the success of his first designer toy “El Romantico.”

Lorenzana chose the Mona Lisa because he admired it when he saw it at Louvre Museum in Paris. His adoration of its painting process, depth of field and even the artistic boundary of hair to face gave him the impact of wanting to own it. He sought to over-expose, overuse and overdose the Mona Lisa figure over and over until it’s a never-ending movement of recognition of Mona Lisa’s beauty without grabbing the limelight. He added his own personal artistic touch to his artworks and elements that “Filipinize” this popular icon.

The bottle of Red Horse beer has been very popular in Lorenzana’s works. It has symbolized the language of loneliness together with a stick of cigarette that embodies the visual language of struggling years of an artist. This is how he wanted to express his way of owning it and being a part of the Mona Lisa’s beautiful legacy.

Lorenzana said, “If you are in front of this painting, you’ll understand instantly why the Mona Lisa is so famous and I can say that after 200 years or more, humanity will still consider it as best painting ever. It’s something you have to see with your own eyes”.

The next “toy” of SecretFresh will be made by Gene Paul Martin and will be released in the much-awaited Philippine Artfair!

The world’s most loved and favorite cartoon feline Hello Kitty took her guests to a trip of their dreams as she brought popular international landmarks and cultural sights to local malls! The special and intimate gathering of Hello Kitty enthusiasts was held at The Block at SM North EDSA.

Guests were toured around the fantastic display that best represented the gorgeous streets of London. All Hello Kitty fans were given the chance to take photos and to pose with their favorite Sanrio characters such as Keroppi, Pochacco and Badtz-Maru with backdrops like  the Buckingham Palace and Big Ben as well as a Hello Kitty Double Decker Bus.

Of course, guests were also given a fabulous shopping experience at Pyn Kiss Milano, Hello Kitty’s couture clothing and accessory line straight from the fashion capital of Italy. And to top everything off, a personal meet-and-greet with Hello Kitty herself was held at the end of the day.

Hello Kitty: Around The World is a glimpse and illustration of the feline character’s worldwide appeal by having Hello Kitty with her family and friends go to different scenic locations in London, New York, Italy, Russia, Germany and Paris. This also shows how adaptable Hello Kitty is with any type of culture because of her cute globetrotter image that kids in all parts of the world will love.

Make it the top-model cut

What are models’ show-stopping clothes, fabulous makeup and a fierce walk without the perfect hairstyle that will complete a flawless runway show or a high-fashion shoot?

It’s only fitting that TRESemmé, the hair care brand favored by industry professionals, collaborated with Asia’s Next Top Model (ANTM) Cycle 2 to give the show a salon-gorgeous  runway appeal. This partnership becomes an integral part in upping the ante of the show, especially with TRESemmé hair care products that are perfect for high-fashion hairstyles and shoot-ready looks. The winner of ANTM will become the face of TRESemmé for Asia.

TRESemmé Philippines brand manager Ann Esteves said, “We are delighted to partner with ANTM on its second cycle. We believe this is a very effective platform for showing the country — as well as the rest of Asia — how TRESemmé can provide salon-quality hair favored not only by hair professionals but also highlighted by the fashion industry in general.”

Asia’s Next Top Model mentor and TRESemmé TRESetter Joey Mead-King said, “An ideal look is very important for any fashion model and that means perfection from head to toe.”

Hair professional, grooming guru and TRESetter Lourd Ramos, who served as a guest judge and beauty specialist for the show’s Makeover episode, said, “With all the rough and tumble of styling, a model’s hair will be subjected to heat from blow drying, curling irons, straighteners and the likes. The hair is truly one of  the most valuable assets of a model. Thus, hair health is extremely important when it comes to accommodating the diverse looks needed in the demanding world of high-fashion.”

Katarina Sonja Rodriguez and Jodilly Ignacio Pendre, who are  representing the Philippines, are among the show’s 16 finalists vying to be the next Asia’s Next Top Model.
