CEU holds Pagbubunyi concert

MANILA, Philippines - The Centro Escolar University presents Pagbubunyi sa Ani ng Sining, a grand concert to be held by the CEU Presidential Committee on Culture and the Arts (PCCA) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Friday, Jan. 10.

CEU president Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina, who formed the PCCA, will welcome guests to the concert that aims to uphold the legacy of  CEU founder Librada Avelino, who was a patron of the arts.

Pagbubunyi  features well-acclaimed international classical music, Broadway songs, works of  renowned Filipino composers such as Ryan Cayabyab and National Artists Lucio San Pedro and Ernani Cuenco, to be performed by the talents of the CEU Conservatory of Music, the  CEU Singers and Concert Band.

The show includes performances of the CEU Folk Dance Troupe and Dramatic Guild.

Dr. Carlito Olaer, vice president for Student Affairs, serves as production manager of the concert. Dr. Teresita Carey, dean of the CEU School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work, and PCCA convenor, leads the preparations for the concert. Drama Guild adviser Jeff Henson serves as concert director, Conservatory of Music head Angelito Ayran Jr. as music director and Viri Marciano as dance director.

 Other members of the working committee are Dr. Maria Lourdes Baello, souvenir program; Dr. Teresita  Ramirez, front of the house; John Luigi Millamina, food; Cynthia Santiago, marketing and publicity; and Felipe Aguilar, documentation.
