I went to Cebu for a wedding and was billeted at Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu. I stayed there in the past (when it was still being managed by a different chain) and it certainly did not look anything like what it did before!
Mövenpick, situated on the tip of Mactan Island, is close to popular diving spots including Boyong Reef, Cordova Reef and House Reef. The Santo Niño Basilica and Magellan’s Cross are all 12 miles away from the resort.

The 32-square-meter Deluxe Room has one king or twin beds. The Family Room features two stylishly appointed connecting rooms designed for the comfort and convenience of a family on vacation. The One-Bedroom Suite has 40 square meters of space with a king-size bed and has a separate living room area with fantastic sea views. It even has a balcony and a Jacuzzi. The Ocean Front is located on the top floor of the resort and offers 130 square meters of spacious upscale amenities.
The three restaurants in the resort include a spot at the wharf’s edge with panoramic ocean views, an all-day venue and a seafood restaurant. The resort also has a poolside bar and a lobby lounge. The Sails is the hotel’s all-day-dining restaurant. It offers a breakfast buffet as well as its internationally-themed dinner buffets. Ibiza Beach Club Churrasco Grill invites its guests to sample its variety of succulent meats, marinated and grilled to perfection. Ibiza Beach Club Tapas offers a rich selection of tapas paired with your choice of fine wines. It also offers guests spectacular ocean views and is the most unique and exciting entertainment venue on the island of Mactan and can be presented in a superb event package that can accommodate up to 800 people.
Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is also popular for conferences. A dedicated banquet and conference executive will make sure all details are taken care of to facilitate a successful event. The tropical setting of the resort makes it an ideal place for events providing business and leisure.
The food is excellent and the service impeccable. Did I mention that the Mövenpick Ice Cream that I always have in any Mövenpick Hotel is available here as well? I certainly cannot wait to have my next break in this wonderful resort!
