Mango magnified
It was a night of fashion and glamour when Mango recently presented its Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the amphitheater of Bonifacio High Street Central.
The event, titled “Mango Magnified,†showcased over 80 pieces of outfits and accessories from the fashion brand and its concept stores H.E. by Mango and Mango Touch. Also launched was the new look of the Mango RCBC-Bankard MasterCard.
Spotted at the event were the brand’s director for operations in the Philippines Rosa Maria Gualberto, country supervisor Kelly Santos and brand manager Karla Magno. Joining them at this memorable occasion were Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq and Consul General Pilar Villanueva.
Many guests in attendance wore clothes by the brand. Julia Sniegowski hosted the event. The fashion show opened with Mango Touch’s new collection inspired by tribal patterns of the gypsies. It was followed by a collection of classic and urban menswear from H.E. by Mango. A three-part style segment of women’s fashion opening with a burst of vibrant colors and closing with natural fabrics capped off the show.
Sinyma performed cool electronica rhythms to set the mood as the models sashayed down the runway.
(Mango and its concept stores H.E. by Mango and Mango Touch are available in leading malls and department stores.)
Brothers in art
Dutch brothers Alex and Han Van Hagen successfully staged their exhibit at The Gallery of The Peninsula Manila recently. The exhibit, presented by Fila, showcased photographs by Alex and copper etchings by Han.
Alex is a respected photographer who captures faces at different events. In this exhibit, he displayed photos such as landscapes and still life captured from his travels. Han, on the other hand, is one of the founders of The Etch Club of The Hague. He made his first etchings when he studied at the Royal Academy of Art at The Hague. He is widely regarded as one of the contemporary masters of copper etching art in Europe.
I do admire the works of Alex and Han and I have several of their works in my collection. I can’t wait for their fifth installment next year!
(Van Hagen & Van Hagen: Brothers in Art Part 4 was also presented by The Peninsula Manila, Belo Medical Group, Bench, Century Properties, Mercedes Benz and Philippine Tatler in cooperation with Rustan’s and Moët & Chandon.)
