To my dear readers, may this brand new year bring you peace, fortune and bliss!!!
It was difficult not to get into a festive spirit as Ramon Shing — entrepreneur, husband and father of three — took an evening off to celebrate his 60th birthday at the Ayala Heights Clubhouse in Quezon City. Over the last few decades, Ramon has established quite a reputation for his business savvy, being at the top of his industry with his handkerchief and accessories line Armando Caruso.
A buffet of matching wine and cocktails, handpicked by the celebrator, was thoroughly enjoyed by his family and friends who were all present to reminisce and welcome another year for Ramon. The surprise of the evening, The Tiongco Brothers, Ramon’s favorite musical group, sang classics that the celebrator used to listen to in his youth.
Surrounded by friends, family and his spirited wife Julie, Ramon enjoyed an evening dedicated to all the things that make him who he is.
Happy birthday, Ramon!
Tree of Hope
The season of joy is not yet over.
In the Queen City of the South, the holiday season is still felt at the five-star Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. Still shining brightly is the hotel’s Tree of Hope, which was traditionally switched on recently.
With this year’s theme as “Nutcracker Suite,” the tree-lighting ceremony had the Cebu Centre for Dance entertaining the audience with excerpts from the classic The Christmas Ballet.
The symbolic lighting was done through winding a key led by the hotel’s visionary general manager Hans Hauri and GMA 7 vice president for regional TV Rikki Escudero. Christmas carols and gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Claus added extra cheer to the heartwarming Yuletide activity.
Congratulations to Hans Hauri and the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu team for another successful endeavor!
Blessed birthday
Being honored by friends and loved ones on our special day is a wonderful way to celebrate another year. Cynthia Villar recently felt it when she was treated by her friends to an exceptional birthday lunch with the famous dishes of Chef Jessie at Rockwell.
An intimate group of her dearest friends gathered together as they shared their warm wishes with the admirable celebrator. Included in the luncheon were (seated, from left) Chit Salud, Nini Layug, Alice Briones, the birthday celebrator Cynthia Villar and Celine Bautista; (standing, from left) Emily Lopez, Joey Sobrepeña, Minerva Tanseco, Azun Zubiri and Beng Fores.
For art’s sake
Works of National Artist BenCab and other renowned artists like Anita Magsaysay-Ho and Ramon Orlina were on sale at the Arts & Objects exhibit held at the luxurious Dusit Thani Manila.
The successful fundraiser was organized for the benefit of Museo Pambata Foundation Inc.
Art enthusiasts were joined by Philippine Hoteliers Inc. vice chairman and president Evelyn Singson, former Dusit Thani Manila general manager Prateek Kumar and Museo Pambata programs director Noreen Parafina at the exhibit, which ran for a week.
Congratulations!
