With original Pinoy music as its back drop, fashion label Mint unveiled its debut showcase to celebrate its 10 years in the fashion industry. A bold, bright and blossoming look in the future of Pinoy fashion was presented on the runway.
The crowd at the SMX Convention Center enjoyed Mint endorsers Sam Pinto, Xian Lim and Gerald Anderson showing off Mint’s colorful Spring/Summer 2013 collection. PBB Teens stars Ryan Boyce, Fred Payawan and TV5 sweethearts Imee Hart and Shy Carlos also walked the runway.
The ‘70s hits experienced a 21st-century remix with their memorable covers of Pilita Corrales, Juan Dela Cruz band, Rico J. Puno, Hagibis and VST & Co. found on Mint’s neon raglan-sleeved OPM shirts. The song Bulaklak ushered in female models in a festive display of florals.
Mint’s long-time collaborating designer Pepsi Herrera presented a ready-to-wear collection for the young label. Mint unveiled a swimwear collection decked with retro-inspired bikinis and light-knit cover-ups for the girls and tribal-printed tanks and digital-printed board shorts featuring the world’s best beaches for the boys.
Grooving in style
The dance floor of the SM MOA Music Hall recently boomed with energy during the staging of Crissa Digital Dance Synergy 2012. The contest had dance groups that successfully mixed the best moves and the most fashionable styles.
Colegio De Sta. Rosa-Makati’s Phat Gurlz Crew won the Fashionably Fun Award and was adjudged the Crissa Digital Dance Synergy Champion in the high school division. The crew proved that girls know how to have the best of fun, with the unparalleled combination of grace and style.
Up on the ladder, Adamson Cast was the grand champion in the college division. The dancers successfully showed their individual fashion sense as they collectively paraded their best moves on stage.
PUP’s Move to the Groove won the Most Stylish in the college category.
Showtime host and powerful dancer Jhong Hilario led the panel of judges in the dance competition hosted by Rizza Diaz and VJ Chino Lui Pio.
Personalities and style icons who added glamour to the dance synergy event included Krista Kleiner, Joyce Ching, Lianne Valentino, Louise delos Reyes, Rira Guzman and Ynna Asistio. Kit Thompson, Igiboy Flores and the Mr. Pogi Boys made all the girls in the crowd smile.
