RMN maintains its leadership at 60
To say that RMN is not only one of the country’s leading radio network in terms of the strength of its key areas nationwide, but one of the country’s oldest, too, is not an overstatement.
At 60, RMN has grown beyond expectations, setting a record of being the No. 1 in providing entertainment and public service to its listeners and the community. It now owns 60 AM and FM radio stations in the country. RMN’s presence in the industry is well felt, its growth almost phenomenal. It can boast of many things: its pioneering works in the delivery of national newscasts via microwave, its major tie-ups with other networks, its many creative and breakthrough radio soaps and news programs, market leading innovation, and its continued commitment to public service in the light of trying times.
With the entry of the digital age, RMN serves to affirm its leadership by investing in cutting-edge broadcasting equipment to constantly offer a better radio experience for its listeners.
RMN remains steadfast in the pursuit of its goals with the anniversary theme “RMN 60 years – Maaasahang Public Service Nationwide,” which kicked off last June 30, 2012 with a 60-day countdown in all AM and FM stations and the blessing and inauguration of the new RMN Broadcast Center in Cebu.
The anniversary celebration will feature a series of activities highlighted as follow:
August 24 – Unilever’s POP Fiesta Variety Show at the Pelaez Sports Complex featuring Rachelle Ann Go, Jovit Baldivino, Christian Bautista, Erick Santos and Siakol
August 25 – Medical Mission at the Cagayan de Oro Provincial Capitol Grounds
August 27 – Variety Show at the Provincial Capitol Grounds with Gloc 9 and local artists
August 28 – Ground breaking of the RMN and Gawad Kalinga Community Center in Camaman-an in Cagayan De Oro
Coinciding with the ground breaking will be simultaneous Medical Mission activities to be conducted by all RMN stations featuring basic health check-up, blood donation, dental and other services.
The anniversary celebration, according to RMN’s Chairman of the Board and President Eric S. Canoy, “is a way of thanking communities all over the country for their continued support and to highlight RMN’s commitment to public service.”
More exciting activities and projects for RMN’s 60th year are being lined-up for the rest of the year.
