Rouge in Love
Emma Watson, a.k.a. Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, has grown to become a fashion icon and is taking leaps in her career as an actress (last seen in the great movie My Week with Marilyn) and as a model. In her, Lancôme has found a new face.
Lancôme celebrated the local and worldwide success Emma has brought to the brand with an afternoon cocktail party. The Skye Lounge at Bonifacio High Street was decorated with sheer draperies at every corner of the rooftop deck.
Three products endorsed by Emma were featured: the Blanc Expert range, the UV Expert GN Shield SPF50 PA+++ BB Complete and the Rouge in Love. Lancôme has brought these products to life, gaining worldwide recognition for the technological innovation of the Blanc Expert and the UV Expert.
Rouge in Love is much more than just lip color; it is also a fashion accessory that any girl cannot do without. Imbued with its mischievously flirty yet elegant character, the product comes in three moods: the Jolis Matins for morning, the Boudoir Time for afternoon and Tonight is My Night for evening.
Lancôme brand manager Sheena Dy introduced the products as soft draperies gradually changed color, bringing a different mood with each product. For the Blanc Expert, the fabrics turned blue and cold canapés and blue cocktails were served. Then the room slowly changed into a warm sunlit tent as guests were offered seafood hors d’oeuvres during the UV Expert talk. Finally, from a warm, sunny feel, the mood shifted to “pretty in pink” as the Rouge in Love was introduced and pink desserts were served.
The event ended with a toast by L’Oreal Philippines GM for luxury products division Charisse Hernandez-Chua and managing director Luc-Olivier Marquet.
One Sunday afternoon with Thia Megia
American Idol Season 10 finalist Thia Megia, who has Filipino roots, recently performed at the Glorietta Activity Center.
Mall-goers enjoyed seeing Thia belting out popular tunes, making their Sunday afternoon extra special. Sharing the stage with Thia was the award-winning dance group Philippine Allstars, whose members practically got everyone dancing to their signature grooves.
Guests also enjoyed exciting games and prizes, courtesy of Doublemint. One of the highlights was the Doublemint Suck and Blow game, where five pairs of male and female contestants showed that they had the confidence to get up close and personal. Kenie Pilar and Abby Abelio won the game.
Prior to the game, Doublemint Sugarfree Mints were generously handed out to guests who dropped by its booth. Guests enjoyed spearmint, peppermint, winter frost and lemon ice variants thanks to dual-layer mints that give powerful, intense freshness all day and night.
Replay rocks Manila
It was a night of music, fashion and all-out fun when Stores Specialists Inc. launched its latest denim wear Replay. Dubbed as “rock-eoke,” the event was held at Opus Lounge at the Resorts World Manila and was hosted by G Tongi-Walters.
Models wearing the latest collection from Replay’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection showed off the brand’s designs as they took photos of the guests with Polaroid cameras. The photos served as souvenirs of the night.
Bea Tantoco, together with her band The Sauce, entertained the crowd. Guests sang their hearts out as they gave their renditions of various songs while the crowd sang along with them. Divine Lee, Victor Basa, JM Rodriguez, Rajo Laurel, Marc Gueco and Sha Supangan amused the guests with their vocal skills. Tessa Prieto-Valdes, who won the first Celebrity Duets contest, gamely sang and danced with some of the Replay models.
The Spring-Summer 2012 collection ranged from slim to straight to boyfit for women, and from regular to straight to boyfit for men.
(Replay is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. with stores at Greenbelt 5 Ayala Center, Makati City and on the fourth floor of Rustan’s Shangri-La Mall, Mandaluyong City.)
