An extraordinary Christmas

It’s the best season of the year when everyone is in a happy, giving, sharing mood. Thanks to great leaps in modern technology, the world today is a much smaller place. During Christmas, time-held traditions still hold dear especially at home. The five-star hotels are holding their grand Christmas tree-lighting ceremonies at their respective lobbies, Christmas carols are playing non-stop and everybody is out buying presents for loved ones, associates and friends. But the best thing that happens during the frenzied holidays is when a flood of donations to indigents and other welfare organizations never seem to end. It truly is the season to be jolly. Here’s hoping that with all the merrymaking, gift-giving and the slew of Christmas parties to go to, we could find a moment to remember how it was on the first Christmas.

Christmas with a heart

What better way to usher in the Christmas season than by supporting our favorite charities and advocacies? This is exactly what took place when the Chari-tree project was recently launched in support of the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation. This project was the brainchild of brilliant GM Patrick Chan and affable marketing and communications director Ryan Chan of The Bellevue Hotel, in partnership with foundation president Jeannie Goulbourn. The elegant Main Wing lobby of the luxurious five-star hotel in the Southern Metro was filled with hundreds of guests and employees who excitedly gathered for the traditional lighting ceremony of the giant Christmas tree. This Chari-tree project encourages everyone to make a charitable donation to the organization by way of buying Christmas balls (with their names written on them) to display on the tree. It was indeed a joyful evening as the attendees thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas-themed canapés and sparkling wines while embracing the true essence of giving. What a meaningful Bellevue-way to start the holiday season!
